people from 83 countries died in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania
as a result of terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001.
Victims and their families will be remembered at the following memorial

Nicholas Cathedral, St Thomas the Martyr, and St Mary's Catholic
Cathedral will be open all day for prayers and the lighting of candles.
The
Carillon Bells will be rung at Newcastle civic centre at 1.46pm
to mark the beginning of a one-minute silence. Flags will be flown
at half-mast next to the Council Chamber.
