Braden Davy

The Northumberland sixth form student is interested in getting involved with politics.

Braden Davy information panel

I was born in Bishop Auckland in County Durham and used to live in Spennymoor until I moved to Ashington when I was in first school. I have moved around, but never lived outside the north-east of England. Over the past two years I have recently spent time in youth politics around the UK and local youth politics in Northumberland.

What are your hopes and fears for 2009?

My hopes are that I will continue to do well enough in school and that I will get the grades I want for my AS levels while enjoying myself. My fears are that this recession will bite and affect me and my family as well as people I know.

What makes you angry?

When people talk at you, or when people don't listen to what you have to say and ignore your opinions. This is particularly true when politicians don't answer the question which was asked.

Describe yourself in three words.

Opinionated, logical, ambitious.

If you were making a time capsule what would you put in it?

I would put in a recording of my local town and area and some photos to see how much it will have changed in the future.

What couldn't you live without?

I couldn't live without the Internet. I use it for school work, socialising, keeping in contact with friends and organising. I rely on the Internet for everything.

What's your proudest achievement?

My proudest achievement was achieving my GCSE grades which were one of the best in my school.

What are your ambitions?

My ambitions are to do well in my A levels and go on to a red brick university to study economics. I would also like to move back up north after university and become a local councillor.

If you ruled the world what would you change?

I would make the world fairer. Wipe out starvation and death from easily preventable disease. Also I would stop the exploitation of the planet and protect our natural environments.

Who would you most enjoy being stuck in a lift with?

If he was alive Mahatma Gandhi. It would be really insightful about what he would say. It would be interesting to say the least.

What are your bad habits?

My bad habits are biting my nails and writing so badly I can't read it later on.

What keeps you awake at night?

Our new puppy howling up the stairs.
