Local history: your stories

We're looking for interesting stories to feature in our new local history pages. Have you got a memory to share?

The areas of Tyneside and Northumberland are rich in history.

Every place has a story to tell - whether it's ancient history, like the Roman legacy around Hadrian's Wall, or the more recent industrial heritage of mining and shipbuilding.

Get in touch

But the place would be nothing without its people, and that's why we're asking for your memories and stories to add to our new local history pages.

Do you have a memory you would like to share? Did you work in the mines or the shipyards?

Maybe you can remember going to an old cinema or dance hall which is no more. Or perhaps you know some surprising facts about the place where you live.

If you have a story that you'd like to see on the website please get in touch. Either e-mail us or fill in the form below.

Please include some contact details so that we can get back in touch.

Tell us a few details about the memory or local history story you'd like to share.
