Ian Stewart, Aberdeen
My 1st GNR, but, won't be my last.Won't be back next year, with a baby on the way, but, definitely want to do this again.Knees gave out at about 11.5 miles, so had to walk for a couple of minutes, but, hey, I finished, and I want to beat my time of 2:38 next time, and, move it closer to 2:00.To EVERYBODY who competed, no matter whethe they walked, ran, or were elite, very well done.Everybody who took part, spectators, competitors, volunteers, has something to be proud of, as does NE of England. One final thing, "oggy, oggy, oggy"

lauren
great this year great

Ann Lowe
This was my first GNR and I loved it!! The people of Newcastle were brilliant in every way and make the event what it is. The 13.1 miles soon disappeared with the support of fellow runners and the locals cheering you on. I've already registered for next year and can't wait to be back to beat my time (2hrs 30s).

Denis McCallig
My 2nd year, ran for 'Sands' in memory of my partners daughter. I will never forget the feeling of the hairs standing up on the back of my neck as the Red Arrows soared above me as i crossed Tyne Bridge. The banter from fellow runners, the cheers of the spectators, and the smile and loving embrace from my fiance at the finish line will live with me for the rest of my life. Thanks very much Tyneside...you did yourself proud. See you next year.

Albert Ross
Thought the Power Play mile was a brilliant idea. I flew up John Reid road to Queen's DON'T STOP ME NOW. Magic

Gary Scott
This was my first GNR and i absolutly loved it, really good day, all the crowd were very supportive, legs wernt so good at 10 miles onwards but made it in the end, can't wait for next years!!!

Ashley Hughes (St Helens)
My First GNR and it was an enjoyable experience! The support from the Geordies and the people from the NE kept me going, without their support, I would have give up.I'll be back next year now that I know what the course is like so I can go for a better time.Thank you very much and see you again. :)

mike proctor, leeds
An amazing day. My first GNR and I did it in 2.17 with a hip injury and tablets to get me started. The great support from the crowd spurred me on when my body was telling me to stop after 95 mins at 10 miles. Asthma uk got 1300 and my faith in human nature is restored. Well done Newcastle - it's a credit to all involved and truly inspirational. Will be fully fit next time!

Laura Bryan
This was my first GNR and i really enjoyed it. The day was amazing and i'm already looking forward to next year!

micheala mccormick
My first GNR and what a fantastic experience!A truly emotional, inspirational day. Everyone was so friendly and the supporters were amazing. Proud to be part of the North East and will definitely be back next year!

Scott Mackey, South Wales
This was my first GNR and I finshed in 3hrs 4mins, I was overwhelmed by the atmosphere, it was electric and so friendly.Don't remember much of th 8-10 miles but will definately be doing it again next year

Michael Stockdale
I broke my wrist 6 weeks prior to the run, managed 2 and half weeks of training and thoroughly enjoyed my first GNR all in memory of my gran. Thankyou to all the kind support we had thorughout the route and the kind people handing out water, lucozade, ice pops, boiled sweets, hosing us down and even offering beer.

Kevin Steen 37860
What a day, I really enjoyed the run - I was taking part with an injury to my Achillies so limped all the way round so the support of the public and my fellow runners really dragged me round. will be there in 2008

Clare Hooper
Loved every minute of it - absolutely fabulous! I wanted to say thanks to the people of the NE for all their encouragement. They made the day for me..plus the Red Arrows! Wow!

Julie Maver
What a FANTASTIC experience this race was. I was so impressed by the organisation & support every inch of the way! I'd like to thank everybody who sponsored us on behalf of TRADECRAFT. You helped 6 'Whitstable Pearls' raise well over 3,000 for a very worthwhile cause indeed.

Dax Sowrey
What an excellent day for a walk in the park it was on Sunday...especially with over 50000 "friends". It was my trinity year and yet again it always amazes me the heartfelt warmth and camaraderie of both the "friends" and the spectators.... a special thanks to the "Golden Girls" who were handing out the Cranberry Juice near the end of the race..... it was just what the doctor ordered! Thanks.I am already looking forward to seeing most of my "friends" next year.....Well done to everyone that took part - for once it isn't just the finishing that matters, it is the taking part and being part of a really special event not only for all concerned but also for all the charities that benefit from the immense genererosity on the day.I look forward to seeing you all again next year.Dax

Neil Watson
Excellent Run. Thoroughly enjoyed participating. The support I received from fellow runners, members of the public and volunteers. I fininshed the race thanks to their help and support. I'm looking forward to taking part in 2008.

Tony Madden
This was my first Great North Run. The atmosphere was amazing with the support of the crowd and the runners all out to make it a fun day.The people lining the route where fantastic, many of them bringing fruit and drinks out for the runners. It must have cost some of them a fortune. I would like to thank them all.The run itself was hard for me as it felt like it was up hill all the way, to me anyway. It was such a good experience, even though it was hard, that I am already wanting to sign up and do it all again next year.Thank you to the all the people involved in organising such a big event so well.

Rob Chapman
Well done the NE. Another excellent day out. Does anyone know whether the Bull Terrier ran the whole race? I heard Metro Radio mention it before the start. Just after the start I was passed by a young army lad making a half-hearted lunge to try and catch a bull terrier - but failed. Then I saw a bull terrier within a mile of the finish. Was it the same one? He seemed to be enjoying the fun and bounding along amongst the runners but I couldn't see whether he was with anyone.

Hannah Wray
