Re-live the Tall Ships visit

Throughout the visit of the Tall Ships to the Tyne in 2005, BBC Tyne, Radio Newcastle, and Look North were out and about capturing the sights, sounds and amazing atmosphere. Here's your chance to enjoy some of the best bits again.

Tens of thousands of people turned out to enjoy the spectacular Tall Ships during their four day visit to the Tyne in July 2005.

Over 100 vessels were berthed along the river, at Newcastle and Gateshead, accompanied by all kinds of entertainment, including music, sports, international food and a giant big wheel. And the skies were filled with noise and colour, with a spectacular firework display.

Throughout the visit, BBC Tyne, Radio Newcastle and Look North captured the sights, sounds and amazing atmosphere of many of the events. So look back and listen again to some of the highlights of the coverage.

Take a look at BBC Tyne's picture galleries of the festivities.
