Say hello to Jack from Colombia! Hola! I have been living in Bogota, Colombia for a year now and will probably be here for a few more! Interesting place to live is Colombia. Apart from the obvious problems, the Colombians are some of the friendliest people you can meet. Food is v good here, but the beer is nothing to write home about - 6 or 7 versions of lager and that is about it. Cost of living is cheap though which helps the pennies (and beer vouchers) go further! The women are some of the best looking on the planet, so that is a definite plus.
Things can get a bit emotional on the safety and security side though and you cannot just wander around as you might like to - shame as there are some spectacular parts with the country having everything from mountains to jungle to Caribbean/ Pacific coastline. Diving and fishing is good, and cheap. But stay away from that marching powder, if you do not want to end up on an extended holiday in a considerably less than salubrious local lock-up! I was born in Rothbury and grew up in Newbiggin. Mostly I miss the football and rugby, along with the beer and stotties!
