RUN HAMSTER RUN


  1. "Run Hamster Run" is an exciting new viewer game on Totally Saturday.

  2. Viewers register online (via this website) to be in with a shout of being phoned by Graham Norton live on the show.

  3. The lucky viewer will need to choose a member of the audience to be their 'Hamster' and run in the Hamster Wheel on their behalf.

  4. The viewer will be asked 6 questions by Graham to determine how long the Hamster gets in the Wheel.

  5. For every question answered correctly, they will win 10 seconds.

  6. When the questions are over the Hamster will begin to run.

  7. The more revoloutions the Hamster runs, the more money they will earn.

  8. When the time is up, the total sum of money won will be split 50/50 between the viewer on the phone and the Hamster in the studio.

Terms and Conditions


  1. Applicants must be 18 years or over and resident in the UK. Proof of age and/or identity may be required. Applicants must not be an employee of the BBC, contractor or associated company or a close relation of such an employee.

  2. Only one online application is permitted per person. Applicants who have previously taken part in the programme are ineligible to register again.

  3. Applications received after midnight on Wednesday will not be considered for that week's programme. At midday on Thursday 10 applicants will be selected entirely at random. They will then be contacted by telephone on Thursday afternoon and one applicant will be chosen to take part in the Hamster Run live on TV the following Saturday. If anyone is unable to be contacted, another applicant may be randomly selected at the BBC's discretion.

  4. During the telephone call applicants will be asked to declare if they have any unspent criminal convictions. The BBC reserves the right to make further enquiries if necessary. People currently serving a term of imprisonment or who have criminal convictions (other than minor traffic offences) are not eligible.

  5. The production team may engage in reasonable personal research about any applicant which could involve speaking to employer, family and friends.

  6. Selected applicants must have access to a telephone and TV at the time of transmission and be available for the duration of the programme and also before and after transmission if so required by the BBC.

  7. If selected to take part in the programme applicants must comply with the rules that will be explained to them and they must be entirely honest and truthful at all times and not say anything that is defamatory, obscene, an infringement of copyright or which could in any way bring the BBC into disrepute. Also selected applicants must not have entered into any commercial or other sponsorship arrangement with anyone in connection with their contribution to the programme.

  8. If requested to so by the BBC applicants selected to take part in the programme may be expected to take part in publicity.

  9. The BBC reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel the programme or the application procedure. It reserves the right to disqualify any applicant including those selected to take part in the programme at any time for technical, communication difficulties or any other reason. It may substitute an alternative applicant at its absolute discretion.

  10. If a selected applicant wins an amount of money as a result of taking part in the programme payment will be made by cheque as soon as possible. No guarantee that any prize will be won is given. No payment will be made for contributions to the programme.

  11. The BBC, its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any email or application being lost or not properly registered or recorded.
