First under the microscope: THE SUGABABES... (click on the banners to see the writing)
Those first few weeks in a new job are always awkward, especially if your new job happens to be the latest member of one of the UK's toppermost girl bands. Amelle's handwriting reveals that she's getting on pretty well, actually. Her writing slopes upwards across the page which suggests optimism. And with the kind of super-start she's had (two words: Kanye. West.) she's got every right to feel that way.
Amelle's writing is small and delicate, which means that she might find it hard to connect with people who aren't on her wavelength. Perhaps that's why there were rumours of trouble at Camp Sugababe with Amelle and Heidi clicking and Keisha feeling left out. Then again, maybe those two have shared sense of what it's like to be the new girl in Camp Frostypop? Or maybe they're just chuffed that Mutya's Stare of Death isn't sweeping around the dressing room any more.
Amelle applies an even pressure to her writing, which suggests strength and vitality - good qualities to have when you're about to embark on a huge arena tour supporting Take That, we suppose. After all, you're gonna need vitality to clear up all those pairs of knickers that get thrown at the stage, and a strong stomach will be necessary, as their fans are getting on a bit these days. It also suggests that Amelle is already becoming the peacemaker of the band, able to break up any disagreements that might occur. Heck, they might even go a whole year without needing another new member...
You don't have to be a trained professional to spot that Keisha spelt her own name wrong at the top of the page (she left out the 'h', dyslexiods). We'd hazard a guess that she's either forgetful, easily distracted, in a bit of a rush or...what was the first one again? Teacher says: must pay more attention in class.
Keisha's writing is straight and vertical, with little evidence of a slant in either direction, which means she's an independent woman. Those of you feeling a need to throw your hands up at her may do so now, however, please remove all loose jewellery first, or you'll have her eye out.
Keisha's handwriting is larger than average, which means that she has a big personality and is outgoing. That's not just a backwards way of saying she's leaving the house, by the way, it means she likes going clubbing and meeting people and stuff. And we've got the scientific proof right here. This explains why she's so popular with the boys. And why she's cooler than the red dress, even when it's on Heidi.
The way Keisha draws smooth curls (known as 'cradles') in her low hanging letters (y, g etc) suggests that she prefers to avoid confrontation, probably preferring the cold-shoulder treatment in a row situation. She also leaves large spaces between her words, because she considers what she has to say to be important and she wants to leave time for it to sink in - providing anyone sticks around long enough to hear it, of course. The pressure of her writing on the paper is light because she is empathetic and sensitive to others, apart from the people she isn't talking to, obv.
Awww! Heidi's handwriting is LOVELY. So neat and tidy! In fact, that's all we're going to say on the topic, so there...
...just kidding! Heidi writes clearly and legibly, which is a personality trait she shares with people who make good teachers and public speakers - Heidi for Prime Minister, anyone? Sometimes her writing spills over a little further than usual into the left hand margin, which means she's nervous about being separated from her family or loved ones...or bandmates - and who can blame her?
Like Keisha, Heidi's handwriting is mainly upright, signalling independence, but occasionally slants to the left. This means that she can be emotionally reserved and doesn't like to be pushed too hard. The middle zone of Heidi's writing (how she writes o, a, e etc.) shows that she is neat and ordered, like Amelle, which could be another reason why they bonded so early on. It also shows that she's sensitive and sentimental - excellent babysitting material, then - and is easily hurt by other people. So we'd better stop now, in case that margin thing sends her over the edge or something.
OVERALL REPORT
Very strong work this term, girls. If some of you could brush up on your spelling and you could all learn to get along, we could be looking at an 'A' by the summer holidays...
