Interdependent Women
She's been the hot-panted Foxy Cleopatra, and she's been the lead singer in a fake '60s girlband, but it looks like Beyonce's latest film project might just be the thing to take her from being a singer-who-acts to the Hollywood superleague, if only because it's going to cause an absolutely massive storm of controversy.
Film director Sofia Coppola, who did Lost In Translation, is looking to make a film version of the book Tipping The Velvet, a novel about a theatrical perfomer lady in Victorian times, who has a girlfriend (YES, a LESBIAN girlfriend. EEK!). And the two actresses she has in mind for the lead roles are Eva Longoria from Desperate Housewives, and the Yonce.
Eva told DigitalSpy: "Yes it's true. We are talking about doing the movie together. It's such a wonderful novel, a beautiful love story."
Beyonce had this to add: "We've had 'Brokeback Mountain' so the time is right for this divine novel to get the same treatment."
And a movie snitch revealed that neither of the future co-stars have a problem with making pretend smoochy with each other either: "They weren't at all coy about the sex scenes. In fact they both seemed to think it would be more fun than doing the same work with a man. It's going to be very hot."
In all those petticoats? It's going to be BOILING...
