It seems the couple's final days were marked with a serious of massive rows, the last of which starting with Britney giggling at a public appearance Kevin had made to promote his album, and ended with a trail of smashed stuff and a scared popstrel taking her kids out of their home and going to stay elsewhere.

A Spears insider told the Sun: "Kevin has been under a lot of pressure. He has been booed at awards ceremonies and his gigs haven't been well attended."

"Britney's laughing set Kevin off. It was like he had weeks of pent-up hostility in him. She knew he wouldn't hurt her or the kids, but she had to get away."
