Struck In A Moment
Under normal circumstances, stories about court cases involving pop stars are about as interesting as learning to read a dull book upside-down and backwards. But then it's not often a court case contains details of one the biggest rock stars in the world getting kicked in his goolies, is it?
The boring bit is that U2 used to work with a stylist called Lola Cashman, back in the late '80s. They are now accusing her of stealing a hat, a sweatshirt, some trousers and some earrings from them, and she's claiming they were a gift.
Now to the fun. It seems that one of Lola's jobs while on tour with the mighty '2 was to deliver some champagne to Bono, while he was singing an old song of theirs called 'Party Girl' (something which the band's lighting man captured on video, and which SHOULD be on public release, please). Sadly, nerves got the better of her, and she explained to the court that she was so embarrassed that she just "ran onstage and kicked him in his manhood".
WAHAY! SHE SHOOTS, SHE SCORES, SHE RUNS AWAY!
And, once he got his breath back, the Bonster even saw the funny side, as Lola explained: "The (video) footage shows Bono saying 'Lola, I love you, come back'...I think it's a demonstration of the special relationship Bono and I had."
The rest of the day's proceedings were all about the hat and the thievery, blah blah...but STILL! She kicked Bono in the knackers! HOW COOL IS THAT!
