A Blunt Talking-To
And the award for most-cried-upon-shoulder in all of rockular music goes to...Sir Elton John. Not only has he been a close personal friend to anyone who's ever sold a record ever, he's now consoling poor James Blunt on the awful truth of his life - namely that some people still don't like him even though he is famous, rich and talented and stuff.
Elton told Contactmusic that James has been feeling a bit miffed about recent press coverage, and fellow musicians lining up to complain about him. But thanks to Sir Elton's trauma clinic, all will be well. He said: "His only problem, and it's a nice problem, is that 'You're Beautiful' was played so much that there was a kind of backlash."
"But that's the society we live in - a soundbite society. James gets very hurt by it. But I've told him, 'Look at the massive album sales, you've been number one in America, all the people at the concerts...'"
There, all fixed.
