Smelling Around
Celebrities and making whiffs, they're all at it! J-Lo, Paris Hilton, Britney, and now Kylie Minogue, who has been spending some of her enforced layoff from pop matters working up a posh stink with cosmetics giants Coty Inc.
And, to celebrate the creation of her very own perfume, Kylie spoke to the press using that strange language the famous only use when they want you to think they're saying something profound about their latest business venture, but actually they aren't saying anything at all.
She told the press: "The launch of my new fragrance coincides with a new chapter of my life. I chose Coty as my fragrance partner because their passionate and intimate approach to fragrance is similar to my passion as an entertainer. Sharing that same vision of fragrance made the partnership easy, smooth and exciting."
See what we mean? Seems meaningful, isn't.
And, as if to prove that there is no limit on total gush when it comes to a celebrity endorsement, Steve Mormoris - the senior vice president of Coty - told the Star: "She showed a real passion for and dedication to the development of the fragrance, as she wanted to capture a true reflection of her personality."
Uh...riiiight.
He went on: "She is delicate as well as strong, seductive, glamorous and playful and so much more. The scent reflects Kylie Minogue's multi-faceted personality."
Oh get over yourself, Johnny Perfume, IT'S JUST A SMELL, IN A BOTTLE!
