Things went from bad to worse when she heard the words 'personal trainer' and 'running machine' uttered in relation to her lads.

A source told The Sun: "Peggy is a typical northern mum and wants her lads to look big and strong. When she saw they had tried to slim down, she thought they were sick or hadn't been looking after themselves."

Horrified by the boys' fancy lifestyle in the capital, the former school dinner lady has prescribed an immediate return to proper Northern grub and "none of that poncey muck you get in London."

"She is terrified they will start wasting away. Peggy got straight on the phone to tell Liam and Noel to come home for a homemade dinner."
