Quick test. What's more punk rock, having loud guitars and spiky hair, or having children banned from singing your songs at school?
If you said it was that last one, prepare for a shock. Pink is totally punk rock!
The loud-mouthed shout-atollah was asked by the Australian newspaper Herald Sun what reaction there has been in America to her George Bush-baiting song 'Dear Mr President', and it seems it's gone down rather well with the anti-war kids, but not their teachers.
She said: "A 10-year-old South Florida girl was banned from singing it in her school talent show, so it's a civil-liberties issue now. I've had a great reaction to that song."
And she's not about to change her ways either, even if it does affect her record sales. She said: "The climate today is very hush-hush, very PC, very 'Don't talk about this, don't talk about that, don't think, don't contribute, it's not sexy, let's go with the whole escapism thing, it's working'."
"Several people are out there doing wonderful things, but you have to Google them. They're not on the covers of the tabloids for these things - only if they're in the middle of a divorce do you hear about their foundations."
