According to the Daily Star, the latest blow to James comes courtesy to the organisers of this year's NME awards, who reckon that having James on their guest list isn't the best idea.

A source told the paper: "There was a lot of talk about James Blunt and the Kaiser Chiefs after their Brits nominations. But while the Chiefs are A-List guests for the NME bash, James was considered too dull."

"Some feared it wouldn't be long before some of the gobbier rock stars hit out at Blunt."
