Jamie Kane has been killed, after the helicopter he was travelling in crashed into the North Sea two days ago.

The singer had been travelling to the Delta Echo oil platform, which is 60 miles north of Holland. A film crew was waiting there to shoot the video for his next single 'Torn' - the third to be taken from his troubled second album 'Sliver Of Light'.

According to the police, Jamie's helicopter experienced some technical difficulties on the flight, and crashed into the sea some miles from its destination. Two bodies were later pulled from the wreckage, and have now been confirmed as Jamie and the helicopter pilot.

DTI Clive Mawson of the police team investigating the crash told the press: "We are not initially treating this crash as suspicious. Our investigation into the aircraft's radio log reveals that the pilot was experiencing mechanical problems before the helicopter downed. Both passengers were killed instantly by the force of the crash."

And a clearly emotional spokesman for Jamie's record label had this to say: "We're all in a state of shock. Everyone who worked or knew Jamie is just in tears at them moment. Out thoughts go out to his family and loved-ones."
