Wedding Belle
Anyone remember Sophie Ellis Bextor? We do! And we're chuffed to ribbons that she's gonna be joining the celebrity wedding club this year, especially after all the recent health traumas surrounding their baby boy Sonny.
Apparently, Sophie had no idea that her boyfriend Richard Smith was about to pop the question, because he'd always told her he didn't ever want to get hitched. So when he got down on one knee back in November, she was taken completely unawares.
A lovestruck Richard told the Mirror: "I fooled Sophie by telling her I wasn't into getting married. I spent ages planning it. We went for a long weekend in Barcelona and had a few drinks at a quiet bar on the beach. I even got down on one knee..."
And Sophie's response? "I was stunned. But I didn't have to think about saying yes. We're getting married in June and I'm happier than ever."
Aw...save us a bit of cake, eh?
