Time For Heroes?
Pete Doherty's one-man mission to become the classiest indie star who ever trod the stage (yes, we ARE being sarcastic) shows no signs of slowing down.
His latest escapade involves a late-night skirmish in a London hotel room with film-maker Max Carlish, who was filming a documentary about the troubled songwriter and former Libertine. Carlish claims that Pete has been stealing from him to feed his drugs habit, and that the singer even tried to blackmail him.
The two ended up having a fight in the Rookery Hotel, East London on Wednesday evening, and now the police are charging Pete with robbery and blackmail alongside his guitarist accomplice Alan Wass. They've both been remanded in custody too, which, if you're still interested in Pete's music career, casts a serious shadow over the recording and mixing of the debut Babyshambles album.
Kind of makes Liam Gallagher's wild ways look like a picnic with the vicar, dunnit?
