Series 8 - Episode 2
On any-excuse-for-going-to-Iceland, Top Gear Richard hit an iceberg, Gordon Ramsay went off on one, and we ruined an entire radio station.
Normally the idea of an American sports car that actually handles properly has most European car fans laughing into their Lotuses. But Chevrolet has a new track-honed card up its sleeve in the shape of the new Corvette Z06.
The ride was awful, and the engine sounded like it was fuelled by spanners. It'll shake your bones to dust, and the gearchange is like a Victorian signal box. But it absolutely creamed the Ferrari 575M round our track, and costs half the amount. Yee haa indeed.
Ramsay swore his way round our track and managed to set both the fastest and rudest lap ever.
The team discovered that the gorgeous new Jaguar XK Coupe isn't at its best on ice. We'll have to wait to get it on good old-fashioned tarmac before making an informed decision. It looked chuffing good though.
The problem with canoes, or kayaks as we're supposed to call them now, is that they don't have engines and are therefore of limited interest to us here at Top Gear. However, one man's unique vision has changed all that, because he's fitted his cano-yak-thingie with a jet turbine. Even Hammond's mental off-road racer couldn't keep up.
