Series 7 - Episode 2
On crash-bang-wallop Top Gear, James bashed into Richard - twice - while Jeremy upset a director by rubbishing his car. And former England footballer and all-round brilliant bloke Ian Wright joined us.
The new Porsche Cayman is basically a coupe version of the Boxster, which immediately led Clarkson to rename it the 'Coxster'. One of our directors put an order in for one shortly before filming, and his new name for Clarkson is sadly unrepeatable.
Who would have thought our national racing colour was picked as a tribute to the Irish? The Gordon Bennett Cup race was originally to be held in Britain, but, the government did what it does best and set a stupid speed limit of 12mph, making racing impossible. So the Irish stepped in and hosted it for us. We chose green as our national racing colour to say thanks.
Remote-controlled cars: you often have to charge them for 48 hours, only to use them for four minutes before the battery runs out. So we got petrol-powered ones. Oh, and instead of miniature ones ours were full-size.
Before the race had even begun, James stacked his car into a huge lump of mud, and a caravan was destroyed. Richard was no better, so to show them how it should be done we brought in a 13-year-old girl.
The idea of Jeremy attempting to beat a couple of rock climbers up a cliff seemed like a good one. He was particularly keen, given that he was driving Audi's magnificent RS4. However, Jeremy couldn't quite compete with two skinny blokes in lycra. But he had such a great time he challenged them to a race back down again. It cost him a tenner.
