Leni Ward has done it alone. Using money inherited from her grandfather, she set up a home studio and over the course of a year recorded what was to become her 2008 album, Body. A true solo effort, Leni was the album's composer, producer, recording engineer and sole performer, playing 11 instruments over the course of the album.
Live, Leni performs with a variety of samplers, drums machines, keys, guitars and pedals to create complex multilayered tracks. Generally, she's playing or controlling three or four of them at any one time. If you watch her feet while she's playing, it looks like she's tap dancing.
