Dananananaykroyd are a five-piece indie-rock band from Glasgow that have described their sound as 'fight pop'. Their screamed vocals and super-distorted guitars have drawn comparisons with hardcore acts like Pavement and Fugazi, while their unspellcheckable name plays on the Batman theme tune and Ghostbuster-cum-ufologist, Dan Aykroyd (in case you were wondering).

Despite a series of line-up changes since forming in 2006, so far they've four singles, an EP and a long-player under their belt, as well as tours with Kaiser Chiefs, Foals and Eagles of Death Metal. They have a headline tour of their own lined up in October 2009, after the release of their next single, Some Dresses, on 24th August.

Brilliant. Is there footage of The Phantom Band @ T in the Park? If so, get it up, they're also totally amazing. These bands make me proud to pretend to be Scottish!
