The
Organic Food Growing sessions are for anyone from beginners who
have no knowledge of gardening to more competent people who would
like more information.
The
course looks at planting seeds, making beds, creating compost, health
and safety training, deciding what to plant - sorting out problems
and is packed with handy hints for getting the best out of the facilities
and resources you have.
Attendees
will receive a special step-by-step workbook, with photographs,
diagrams and useful information.
"The
course is for complete beginners," said Emma Perks, food growing
project officer for the North Chilterns Trust, which is running
the course.

| Having
an allotments can prove fruitful |
"We
look at how to sow and the best places to grow food. You don't need
to have a big space or dedicate a great deal of time."
Everyone
is invited to attend St Peters Centre, St Peters Road, on Tuesday
mornings from 10am to midday. The course will run each week until
8 April.
Emma
is hoping that the participants will go on to take over an allotment
on the Ferndale patch in the Dallow estate.
Later
in the year, there will be courses at the Guru Nank Sikh Temple
in Dallow Road and the Alcohol Services for the Community in John
Street.
