Shaw’s Corner is hosting two plays this weekend, Don Juan in Hell by George Bernard Shaw and Dave by Lady Gregory.

The first is the independent third act of Shaw’s great comedy Man and Superman. It is a dazzling, witty and stylish conversation piece that gets to the heart of Shaw’s views on the war between men and women and, as with much of his work, remains provocative and modern despite being nearly a century old.

Lady Gregory, author of the play Dave, was a frequent visitor to Shaw’s Corner and a very close friend of both Charlotte and George Bernard Shaw.

Dave was her last play written just after her 70th birthday and this is the first time that it will be performed live professionally anywhere in the United Kingdom.

The open-air productions will be performed by Ayot Productions who have presented 15 Shaw plays to date at Shaw's Corner. The former home of George Bernard Shaw still remains the only venue in the country to stage open-air productions of Shaw plays.
