End of the line for line-dance |
 |
|
 |
| The
line-dancers at their last meeting. |
|
 |
A
line-dancing group from Bedfordshire have been banned from practising
in Maulden because their shoes are damaging the floors.
|
 |
|
|
 |
The group
have met in the village hall every Tuesday for five years, but were
given the boot last month after the Maulden Village Hall committee
said the damage to the floor was just too much.
The
group met in Maulden for the last time on Tuesday and it was an
emotional day for all concerned.
The
line-dancers will now have to move to Marston, which is around three
miles from Maulden.
 |
| The
floor is said to be damaged by the line-dancers. |
One
women present at the dance class said: "It's disgusting, we
are not damaging the floor, you only have to look to see that."
Another
line dancer said: "The village hall was built back in 1966
and only had a life span of twenty years, but it's still going and
needs a major revamp and the committee is using the dance lessons
as a scape-goat for the decay of the floor and the premises."
Line-dancing
teacher Lorraine Kemp said: "I use three other village halls
and have never had a problem such as this.
"People
feel a lot more positive now it has been confirmed the class will
continue at Marston village hall, but it's a real shame we are leaving
because it was the perfect location for us."
