Adam achieved four AS-levels, A grades in Chemistry and Biology, a C in Physics and a D in French.

Adam, of Arlesey, made history when at the time he became the youngest person ever to pass an A level when he gained a B grade in Maths - at just 10-years-old.

Proud dad Paul said: "He has always been a bright child and although I'm his Dad I've no doubt that he is the most intelligent child in the UK. He has a god given gift - a natural talent, just like an athlete. We're very proud of him."

Adam has his own website www.adamzone.co.uk where he gives maths advice and he is writing a light-hearted book to help with maths revision.

He will take his A-levels in Chemistry, Biology and French next year at Samuel Whitbread in Clifton and hopes to then go to Oxford or the Massachusetts Institution of Technology.

Josh Tattersall.
Josh Tattersall- near perfect score

Josh, 13, of Ampthill, got an A in his Pure Maths AS with a mark of more than 90 per cent.

In one of the three sections he dropped just four marks to score 86 out of 90.

His Dad, Malcolm, said: "We are very proud of him. Josh had to teach himself out of a text book at Alameda Middle School, in Ampthill, for most of last year because there was no teacher in the school qualified to teach him."

Josh sat on his own in the classroom following a correspondence course, set his own homework, marked it himself and then gave himself a “star” if he had done well.

Twelve months ago Josh achieved an A-star in his maths GCSE and has just spent three weeks (along with his his 15-year-old sister Hannah) at
the Government’s new National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth at Warwick University.

In September he goes to Bedford Modern School and hopes to take his full A-level next year.

I met Josh Tattersall at the above mentioned National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth. Even after studying maths at Warwick University for three weeks, I admire Josh and wish him all the best for the future. Well done, Josh!
