Council acts on noisy neighbours

Re-creating Glastonbury in your back garden
could get you in trouble with the local council

Luton Borough Council is getting tough on noisy neighbours.

In two separate cases this week offenders have been ordered to pay hefty fines.

In one case Katrina Dowling of Start Point was fined £2,000 plus costs of £762 for breaching a noise abatement notice.

In the second case, Lawrence Tipper of Relander Court, Sunridge Avenue was also fined £2,00 plus costs.

Both of them had audio equipment seized by the council. Last year there were over 1,200 complaints about noise - almost half of these were related to neighbours playing music too loud.
