Where
are you and the band from?
Originally we are all from Essex, but we are now living in Welwyn
Garden City, we did our first gig in Harlow so we say we are from
there.

Subways with Glastonbury Organiser Michael Eavis. |
You've
got a really big gig coming up haven't you?
Yes we are playing at Glastonbury 2004, it should be really
good we're all looking forward to it.
How
did that come about?
I was producing a band and I asked what they were going to with
their CD and they told me about this Glastonbery competition, where
you sent your CD in and they filter them through and see which are
the best. They put a final on to see who were the best, we (The
Subways) were picked and played in the final and won!

What
happened next?
Michael Eavis (The Glastonbury organiser) rang us up a couple of
weeks later and told us he had bumped us up to the Other Stage,
the second biggest stage at the event which there is usually a minimum
of ten thousand people watching, it should be really good!
What
will you be doing after Glastonbury?
We'll be having a days break then we are doing a six day tour supporting
Stellastarr, then we are doing a few more London and local gigs
and then we will be releasing our first single in September which
we are really looking forward to.
Is
it in the can or are you still working on it?
It still needs to be worked on we are still mixing it and finalising
everything, it was all done in one day pretty much, all our other
demos were done at home in the front room and we just sent them
out and relied on the energy of the song to get us gigs and get
us noticed.
Well
done with your current success, you've made it to the biggest event
in the world?
Yes we are all very proud of ourselves and we try to help out other
local acts as much as possible passing on CD's to A&R people
and plugging everyone as much as possible, we are all in it for
each other after all.
