This
church has been a cathedral since 1877 and the cathedra (Latin for
seat) is the official place for the Bishop of St. Albans.
You
can also see the Chapel of the Persecuted people are remembered
who are oppressed and martyred, often - like Alban - because of
their faith.
Also
visible is the Wallingford Screen. The statues are Victorian replacements
of the originals destroyed at the Reformation.
