Local Elections: Welwyn Hatfield |

Labour
lost five seats to both the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats
on Welwyn Hatfield District Council. The results mean the Conservatives
keep control of the council.

The
council has a total of 48 seats, and a third of these, 16 seats
in total, were up for election this year.
The
Conservatives took control from Labour in 2002 and were able to
bolster their majority further this time round gaining three seats.
The Liberal Democrats, who started off with no councillors, gained
two from Labour.
It
means the current political make-up is: Con 31, Lab 15, Lib Dem
2.
