    The Liberal Democrats stormed home in Watford taking 10 out of the 12 seats up for election. Labour group Leader Andy Head, was one of the four Labour councillors to lose their seats.

    The council has a total of 36 seats, and a third of these, 12 seats in total, were up for election this year.

    Following the election of a Lib Dem Mayor last year, the Liberal Democrats now control 27 of the 36 seats on the council.

    With a turn out of 39.3 per cent, they made 10 gains taking 4 from Labour and 3 from the Conservatives.

    The new tally is: Lib Dem 26, Con 4, Lab 4, Green 2.
