The South East Region, which covers Buckinghamshire, is the largest of the UK's Euro constituencies with ten seats up for grabs. With a turn out of 36.5% the overall results were Conservatives 4, UKIP 2, Lib Dems 2, labout 1 and Green 1.

The UK Independence Party gained an extra seat, whilst the Conservatives and Labour lost one each. Nigel Farage, the re-elected UKIP MEP, says the vote represents a landmark achievement for the party.

Among those retaining their seats were Baroness Nicholson for the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party's Caroline Lucas. There were ten seats up for election this year, compared with eleven in the last Euro elections and the officials estimated that there were 12 recounts across the region.
