The Stowe Sub Aqua Club wanted to do something a little different for charity and so one night (perhaps when they had spent a little too long at the bar) they came up with the idea to hold a 24 hour underwater Twister competition. Swan pool in Buckingham kindly agreed to let them use their pool and Stowe Sub Aqua Club agreed to provide the dive kit and instructors. ![]() Gareth at the Stowe Sub Aqua Club You can take part! For those who can get to the Swan Pool in Buckingham on the 5th or 6th of September 2009 and haven't done SCUBA diving before, Nationally Qualified SCUBA Diving instructors will be on hand to teach anyone the skills and take you on a "Try Dive" before you enter the competition and place your first foot or hand on a coloured spot. The Twister game needs to last from lunch time Saturday to lunch time Sunday to enter the guiness book of records so volunteers who want to learn SCUBA diving are more than welcome to come and give it a try. Whilst SCUBA diving, playing a game of twister and making a world record attempt, the Stowe Sub Aqua Club will be raising money for CANCERactive, a charity that aims to help people increase their personal odds of beating cancer by laying out ALL the very latest research information from around the world whether it is about orthodox, complementary or alternative therapies. If you are able to be in Swan Pool, Buckingham, on Saturday the 5th of September 2009 from 1:00pm – 6:00pm or on Sunday the 6th of September 2009 from 08:00am – 3:00pm you can take part in the World record attempt.
