Hendrix, Zeppelin, Jeff Buckley, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Kings of Leon, & many many more..

Introducing... Gekko

How did the band form?

Best friends Justin and Mark were two 14-year-olds who needed a hobby - Following in the footsteps of idols Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Buckley; they cobbled together a band and began strumming. To cut a (VERY) long story short! 10 years after a number of drummers past through there ranks they hooked up with an old friend John Budge to help them out for a gig at the re-opening of Bowes Lyon House, Stevenage at the beginning of May 2008 and for all 3 members something just clicked when they started playing together!... And here they are today already with a number of gigs under there belt and a lot more shows lined up.

Of all the songs you have written, what’s your current favorite and why?

Souls together - It’s an old school a blues tune and it’s new for Gekko to do this kind of tempo

What’s your most memorable gig and why?

We can’t even remember what we did yesterday!

What’s your fan base like?

25- older, we think it’s the classic rock sound that we have? Maybe kind of!?

What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever done / sent to you?

Nothing! We don’t have any fans!..nobody does likes us!

If you could record a collaboration with ANYONE - who would it be and why?

John- The faces, Mark –Jeff Buckley, Justin – victor Wooten

What’s the band’s ultimate ambition or what’s your dream?

To play our instruments and enjoy it. To whoever, wherever, whenever. Never forget why you started playing! And see where the ride takes us!

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?

Yes! We are playing in Luton on the 12th Feb for the fantastic PDM team!
