Introducing... Echo Box

Introducing... Echo Box

A band who are just trying to do there own thing without watching whats cool or music of the moment.

Please state the names of all the band members and the instruments they play…

Rob: lead vocals, guitar
Greg: Backing vocals, guitar
Jordan: Decks, Keys
Nathan: Base guitar
Jamie: Drums

How would you describe your style of music?

A mixture of totally different sounds, a cross between apposing genres - we have been described as a merger of Muse and A Band Of Hourses 'if thats possible'. We are just trying to do our own thing without watching whats cool or of the moment.
Alternative - Rock

What would you say are your musical influences?

A huge number of bands (too many to list), but also our interests and upbringings, each member of the band brings a totally different personality and values to our music which keeps us fresh.

Introducing... Echo Box

How did the band form?

We all went to the same school (Cardinal Newman) Rob one year above the others, each person dabeling in there own musical interensts - Rob, Greg and Jamie were in a few bands together, whilst Nathan was producing a totally differnt sound in other bands, at this time Jordan was DJ'ing around Luton and MC'ing. When we came together at 6th form a friendship merged; Rob, Greg and Jamie started a new band wanting to create a fresh sound, offering Jordan a place in the band using his contrasting infulences, the finishing touches came when Nathan joined after desiding on a new project.

Of all the songs you have written, what’s your current favourite and why?

Rob - Our new song: I like playing it because its fresh and i think its well structured and maybe one of our strongest songs
Greg - 'Long Walk Home': to date i think this is our most structured song and it took the longest to write
Jordan - 'Unique': it doesnt have the standard convensional structure to it and i just like its sound and enjoy playing it
Nathan - 'Disappearing seas': It has a really powerful hook
Jamie - 'Long Walk Home': Enjoy playing it and its one of our strongest songs

What’s your most memorable gig and why?

Battle of the bands Final : the atmosphere was crazy, there was a large audience and we won which made the night all the more better

What’s your fan base like? What group of people would you say you appealed to most?

I'd say we don't promote ourselves enough or play enough to have a 'fan base' as such BUT  we have a nice sizing of people who like our sound and are very interested in us, which is flatering. We appeal to those to like music with substance and layers - age wise, maybe more so people in there late teens. People attracted to Aternative Rock.

What’s the band’s ultimate ambition or what’s your dream?

In our wildest dreams maybe we would one day be able to make a desent living from Music, here our music on the radio, have people that we admier complement our sound.
