Lost Without Cause (LWC) were once one of Hertfordshire’s favourite unsigned bands. After signing to the Milton Keynes based record label Project1 Records they have pretty much turned into one of Hertfordshire’s favourite signed bands. As I just about manage to force myself away from my newly purchased Radio 1’s Live Lounge CD, I check out the double-A side disc LWC have sent over to me. Will the tracks “Write your Own Ending” and “Electric” be enough to push them up to the big leagues? Could they join other local bands like Enter Shikari and hit the big time? LWC have the ability to tap into a few markets with their sound. They manage to conquer the challenge of creating a unique sound without making every song sound the same. An aspect of song writing that many bands fail at (won’t mention any names). The track “Write Your Own Ending” has a real pop-punk edge to it giving me the strange urge to dance bare-foot through a field in Devon. If you’re a fan of band’s like Suede, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with this one. However, the track that made me believe this band have a real future was the soon-to-be single release “Electric”. Here’s one song which I can only describe as the beautiful yet vicious result of Placebo’s Brian Molko having a child with every member of The Subways (encase you’re wondering….that’s a good thing!).
