Various clergy, ministers and lay readers led the service; the sermon and the blessing was given by Bishop Richard Inwood, the Bishop of Bedford. ![]() Some rousing singing was led by the Ampthill Town Band and a belting rendition of Graham Kendrick's 'Shine Jesus, Shine' brought celebrations to close. A balloon was released representing the work of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is one the Church's most joyous days and a couple of hundred people stayed on to enjoy an open air picnic in the beautiful spring sunshine.
