X-ray-ted calendar raises cash!

Radiology staff at Bedford Hospital are planning to expose themselves in an x-ray-ted charity calendar.

Stripping off under the glare of a camera is all in a day’s work for staff at Bedford Hospital’s radiology department, except it’s usually the patients baring all under the lens, not them.

But now, nurses and support staff have invited patients to 'see us as we see you' to raise cash to improve facilities for visitors.

Now, with only a strategically placed stethoscope or x-ray film to protect their modesty, the team are exposing their bodies for a charity fundraising calendar.

Nude

Miss January, Sister Maxine Gilbert, revealed that posing nude gave them a better understanding of how patients feel when they're asked to strip.

“We really wanted to do something to raise money to improve patient amenities at Bedford Hospital and, instead of asking for sponsorship for different challenges, decided to strip off for the nude calendar so our patients can see us as we see them!” she said.

“Twelve of us posed individually and there are two group shots. It was all done in our time, at our own expense and after patient appointments. Posing for the calendar was great fun, a bit nerve-wracking and we certainly now appreciate how our patients feel when we ask them to get undressed!

“We really hope people will buy the ‘x-ray-ted’ calendar and help us raise funds for the hospital. All the money we make from calendar sales will go to improving patient amenities. We hope to raise as much as possible so please, come and buy a calendar and see us exposed!”

The calendar is on sale at the hospital shop and in the radiology department and costs £8.50.

There are many admirable aspects of what these ladies (I assume they are all female) are doing, not only the charity, but trying to feel what their patients are experiencing, modesty is often over looked by medical people, bravo
