    Stevenage: FA Trophy Final 2007

    Stevenage Borough celebrate
    Stevenage Borough celebrate

    Boro win Trophy thriller!

Stevenage came back from two goals down against Kidderminster to lift the FA Trophy in the first competitive match held at the new Wembley stadium.

    Kidderminster 2Stevenage Borough 3
    Constable  31
    Constable  37
    Cole  51
    Dobson  74
    Morison  88

    Simon Oxley reports:

Who says 'Roy of the Rovers' scripts don't come true!

From 2-0 down to 3-2 winners with a late goal bringing the FA Trophy back to Broadhall Way - scored by the man who has scored in EVERY round of this competition.

Steve Morison's winner was his 35th of the season, and, as Chairman Phill Wallace was almost happy to admit after the game, that meant yet another bonus for his prolific striker!

Not that Morison was thinking of £ signs when he followed up to score after Kidderminster keeper Scott Bevan had blocked his initial shot.

That completed a remarkable come-back by Borough who trailed 2-0 at the break to a Jamie Constable brace. Mitchell Cole started the fight back and substitute Craig Dobson equalised before Morison had the final word.

Quite a start for the new Wembley!

    Goals

Kidderminster: Bevan, Kenna, Hurren, Creighton, Whitehead, Russell, Blackwood, Penn, Smikle (Reynolds 90), Christie (White 76), Constable.
    Goals: Constable 31, 37.

Stevenage: Julian, Fuller, Nutter, Henry, Gaia, Cole, Beard, Miller, Guppy (Dobson 63), Oliver, Morison.
    Goals: Cole 51, Dobson 74, Morison 88.

    Att: 53,262

    Ref: C Foy (Merseyside).
