Barry and Anthony dressed up for work!

People will do anything ....!

Find out what the people of Beds, Herts and Bucks have been doing this year for Children in Need!

The dynamic duo!

Batman and Robin
Barry and Anthony as Batman and Robin

Barry Burgess and Anthony Mager from Brown's French Polishing in Letchworth were sponsored to carry out all their collections and deliveries on Children in Need day dressed as Batman and Robin!

Brown's are also donating £1 to Children in Need for each job booked in during November. If you would like to support them, please email:info@brownsfrenchpolishing.co.uk.

The Sugar 'Plump' Fairy'!

Bob Hawkes
Bob Hawkes - the Sugar 'Plump' Fairy!

51 year old Bob Hawkes from Chalton Village Post Office and Stores was challenged by one of his customers dress as outrageously as possible to raise money for Children In Need!

Always up for a challenge - Bob carried out his early morning paper round dressed as a fairy and together with his partner Jean Colman, will be encouraging all their customers to make a donation to Children in Need.

They've got the X-Factor!

Staff from Three Valleys Water Call Centre
Staff from Three Valleys Water

Staff at Three Valleys Water Call Centre in Hatfield, will be volunteering their time and manning the phones to take your pledges from across Beds, Herts and Bucks on Children in Need night.

During the day, staff have also been holding their very own X-Factor contest with employees from the company forming their own supergroups to impress the judges! Louis, Sharon and Simon had better watch out...

School's Out!

Merchants in Milton Keynes put on a whole host of activities for Children in Need Day. Opting for a school theme, all staff paid £1.00 to wear school uniform. They also organised a school sports day with egg and spoon and three-legged races before the main event - an X Factor competition where three of the managers took on the role of judges! Some great prizes, including meals at local restaurants, were up for grabs, all donated by local businesses.

Throughout the day there was cake and popcorn selling, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, a raffle and loads of other competitions which ensured a fun-filled day for all staff, who hoped to raise a minimum of £500 from their substantial efforts.

Who Am I?

Staff and students at Bedford College managed to combine their coursework with fundraising when they dressed up for Children in Need Day!

Child Care Students at Bedford College
Students as footballers and cheerleaders!

Linking in with the CIN theme of "Be Who You Want To Be", and aided by the Heair and Beauty students, the Care students dressed up in things that they would not normally wear in order to challenge pre-conceived ideas and discuss issues of discrimination.

One of them Natasha, who never normally wears make-up was made up and had her hair done. "It's not bothering me too much at the moment" she said. Meanwhile, the female Child Care students dressed up as footballers and their male counterparts donned wigs and became cheerleaders!

The students took part in a number of activities throughout the day which helped them think about their attitudes to others and they also took buckets round the college and Bedford Town Centre to raise cash! By lunchtime they had already ammassed around a massive £500!
