Grimsby 0-1 Wycombe Wanderers

Ian Stringer reports.
Wycombe went top of League Two after beating the previous leaders Grimsby at Blundell Park on Friday night.

It was a very professional job from Wycombe, to come to a side who topped the table and then outplay them in a superb first half, but this epitomises John Gorman's methods this season - attack whoever's put in front of them.

Although the Chairboys were missing their leading scorer Nathan Tyson, it seemed Tommy Mooney's mission was to put in a hero's performance and it was his goal that separated the sides.

Kevin Betsy weaved in and out of defenders all night and his cross was headed home by Mooney on 11 minutes for a well deserved half time lead.

The 13 game unbeaten run was kept intact thanks to a sterling second half performance from debutant goalkeeper Any Lonergan. He pulled off saves for two close range definite goals.

So - it's Wycombe and Chelsea who remain undefeated and the Chairboys top League Two.
