    Crunched caravan
    A crunched caravan!

    Time to crunch a caravan!

Have you ever crawled along behind a caravan on the motorway or suffered endless holidays in non-descript fields? If so, an Easter event at Bovingdon race track could be just what you need!

    Event details

National Banger’s Caravan Race and Destruction Derby

    Bovingdon race track

Good Friday, 25 March at 1.30pm

Bovingdon race track is situated off the B4005 Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex.

    Spedeworth International

    Tel: 01252 322 920

Have you ever sat fuming behind a car and caravan on a hot Easter Bank Holiday trip to the coast?

Have you ever had evil thoughts about exactly what you would like to do with the road-hogging duo?

Have you sat watching the rain drip down a caravan window as you look out onto yet another muddy field?

If so, Spedeworth International is offering the revenge you have been looking for with their Bangers' Caravan Race and Destruction Derby at Bovingdon race track this Good Friday.

It's a chance to watch what you've always wanted to do yourself! The National Bangers will be hitched up to the curse of the holiday A Roads and pull them to destruction when the green flag drops.

    Caravan racing
    Ready to go!

Moving faster than they have ever moved before and driving in a way that would distress any self-respecting member of the Caravan Club, the winner will be the last car and caravan left moving.

The drivers will have to use all their skill as well as the front bumper, because any car and caravan that become detached during the mayhem will be disqualified.

By the end of the race most of the caravans will have been reduced to little more than a set of wheels attached to the tow bar, bringing wicked smiles to the faces of anyone who has had to endure being stuck behind a "happy camper" doing 30 and causing a 10 mile tailback in their wake.

    Contests

As well as the exciting caravan crunching action, there will also be THREE formulas racing at Bovingdon on Good Friday.

The Rookie Bangers will also be in action on the day, chasing points in the opening round of their Track Championship, so expect plenty of cars on the track and hotly contested races as soon as the green flag drops.

The Rookies will be joined by the awesome Lightning Rods as the Ford Sierra based machines take to the Herts circuit for their first outing. The rapid Lightning Rods are officially a non-contact formula, but their no-holds barred racing style has earned them the nickname ‘Frightening Rods’ as so many are left as smoking wrecks before the days racing is over.

To add to the day's action-packed racing programme, the Ministox will also be taking to the circuit providing very close racing from their young 11-16 year old drivers.

With all this AND free parking, Bovingdon looks set to provide a high-octane start to the Bank Holiday - unless, of course, you are a caravan lover!
