Beaconsfield 5-3 Hitchin Town

Andy Fitzsimmons reports.
Beaconsfield SYCOB stormed through to the next round of the FA Cup after beating Hitchin Town.

Hitchin manager Kerry Dixon was branded as being "tactically naive", or at least for a more polite term in speaking, by the Canaries travelling contingent, after they watched their side crash out of the Cup, 5-3, to Southern League new boys
Beaconsfield SYCOB.

The Rams took the early advantage, when Sam Stanley's spot kick after seven minutes, and Allan Arthur's low strike, helped the Holloways Park outfit to a two-goal cushion within the opening 10 minutes.

However, an own goal from Rams' Liam Patrick helped reduce the visitor's deficit, after he put into his own net 10 minutes later.

But goals from George Mapes, and two more from Allan Arthur to compete his hat trick, was enough to book the Rams' place in Monday's draw, as Hitchin's modern-day giant-killing dream came to an abrupt end.

Town's other consolation goals were scored by Bilal Hassan (65) and Ian Scott (89).
