Roller Derby Skating Lessons

Want to give roller derby a try? Come along to our new skater training every Monday night. The sessions are open to anyone over the age of 18 years, and we can provide skates and safety equipment.

No previous skating experience necessary. We can teach you to roller skate on quad skates, and if you like it, you can learn to play roller derby, an all-female, full-contact sport.

If you are over 18 years, if you feel like you need a new challenge, if you want to learn what life on 8 wheels is like; then we want you.

We also have opportunities for male skaters to train as referees. Guys, please come down too.

Wear comfortable clothing (leggings and a t-shirt). Skates and safety equipment are provided.

Cost

£6.00 per session. All funds pay for the upkeep of equipment, and running costs.

Accreditation

Rainy City Roller Girls has been accepted as an "Apprentice" affiliate of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), the governing body for women's amateur flat track roller derby.

This building had at one time been Riley's Pool Hall, and Butterflies Nightclub, but had been disused for some time. Last summer, our roller girls took to work to transform it into a rollerskating venue.
