Learn to Play Ice Hockey

Our Learn to Play programme is aimed at teaching the fundamentals of ice hockey to children aged 4 to 12 and is a great starting experience for boys and girls in this exciting sport.

The programme is structured so that all participants gain self-confidence within their ability and have an understanding of the skills required to improve their hockey and skating skills.

Skating, puck control, passing skills, shooting skills and small area games will all be worked on!

All individuals will receive a basic evaluation report card at the end for the six week programme.

Cost

Quote BBCGI and get your first session free. The cost is £10 per session. £50 for a 6 week programme and receive 1 public skate admission (excludes skate hire) and a Slough Jets NIHL2 game ticket.

Special requirements

All participants must be able to skate at a reasonable level (balance on ice, forward/backward movement, beginning crossovers). Participants will also require some protective equipment for the head, elbow, hands and legs. They will also need skates and a stick. We do have a supply of these items, but they are on a first come, first served basis.

Accreditation

The session is run by the Slough Junior Jets Head Coach. All of the coaches on the ice are English Ice Hockey Association (EIHA) qualified and registered up to Level 3 and have current DBS.
