About this location

The Scottish Wildlife Trust, Falls of Clyde covers 59 hectares, has woodland along the River Clyde gorge and four Show more… spectacular waterfalls. Warblers, tits and wrens enjoy the woodland and numerous wildflowers, fungi and invertebrates can be seen. The reserve stretches along both sides of the Clyde gorge, from the historic village of New Lanark southwards to Bonnington Weir. The reserve contains fine examples of oak woodland and is home to a pair of breeding peregrines. The Clyde Walkway passes through the reserve, access is very limited for wheelchair users due to steps and uneven terrain. There is a good network of paths, although their condition is very weather dependent. The visitor centre is fully accessible.Show less…
