Your taster session starts with gentle warm-up exercises and a series of basic movements, which improve posture and co-ordination, and teach you how to receive techniques safely.

The main part of your session will involve practising a series of basic Aikido techniques with an experienced student. The techniques are broken down into easily learned components to make them quicker to pick up and easier to understand; the instructors are always on hand to offer assistance and answer any questions.

Activities are not organised by the BBC unless stated otherwise. Neither is the BBC responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. If you are under 18, ask your parent/guardian before taking part in any activity.
