My Story
This is a BBC competition for ordinary people with extraordinary true stories.
Finalists will get to tell their story in a major BBC One series. Plus five of these stories will get published and made into a book.

To mark the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II, The One Show is attempting to reunite friends who met during the war years but lost track of one another.

On 1st June 2009, The One Show exclusively launched a new BBC project - Village SOS.
Village SOS is a new project from the Big Lottery Fund and the BBC.
Over the next year it will offer struggling villages the opportunity to help themselves out of trouble.

The search is on for six UK villages with a great business idea that will bring new life and energy to their communities. The best ideas will receive funding of up to £400,000 each from the Big Lottery Fund.
We're also looking for six Village Champions, enterprising individuals who will work with the successful villages to launch and run their brand new businesses.
Their stories will be followed for a major primetime series for BBC One in winter 2010.
The deadline for all applications is 14th August 2009.
