Christine grew up in Northern Ireland spending most of her childhood in Newtownards, Co Down, a few miles east of Belfast.
After studying politics at Queen's University her TV career started in various roles behind the camera before she became a floor manager. Her big break came in 2003 when a BBC boss in Belfast persuaded her to try her luck in front of the camera.

Here first outings as a presenter came on various programmes in Northern Ireland: First Stop, an entertainment show, Town Challenge and Sky High, which saw her flying around in a helicopter. She also presented the BBC Two talent show Let Me Entertain You with Brian Conley.
She was part of the launch team on The One Show as a reporter and outside broadcast presenter, but soon graduated to co-presenting the show.

In 2008 Christine took part in Strictly Come Dancing, partnered by Matt Cutler. She made it to the eleventh week before losing out to Rachel Stevens in a dance-off

In January 2009 Christine travelled to Uganda to make a series of films for Comic Relief. She reported on the work that needs to be done to improve the lives of the people there.

She is the Northern Ireland ambassador for The Prince's Trust.
When Christine isn't working she can often be found doing her ironing. She says, 'I know it's boring but I'm madly obsessed with ironing.'
She is a patron of the CineMagic children's film festival based in Belfast.
Christine has a phobia of birds ever since she was attacked by a flock of geese as a child - she has the scars to prove it.
